THE ORGANIZATION
Support her for Women’s Rights is a non-governmental, independent organization specialized in defending human rights in general and the rights of women and children in particular in Iraq. It registered officially as an NGO on July 17, 2022.
Founders of the organization started as voluntary team registered in the ministry of youth and sports in 2015. The team have also created a powerful social network platforms under the name Iraqi women rights on Facebook
and Instagram.
The team provided (Free legal consultations, mental health/psychology consultations, and raised awareness about human rights and women issues locally)
THE OBJECTIVES OF “SHOFWR”
- To provide the right help to nurture, empower and inspire young women to build a better life socially, economically, and health wise .
- Online campaigns through social media platforms as they are considered a powerful mechanism to bring attention to women’s issues and rights.
- Programs aiming to empower women and help contribute in the social and economic issues .
- Providing psychological and relief support and legal advice to women and children.
- Monitoring violations of the rights of women and children and addressing them in cooperation with the public officials.
- Rejecting hate speech and changing the negative stereotype about women.
- Efforts to achieve justice and eliminate all forms of discrimination against women by calling for legal and constitutional amendments.
LEGAL TEAM
Support her for women rights organization provides free legal assistance and consultations through its network of lawyers and community justice workers. Legal assistance can range from legal advice and counseling, to representation in court through litigation.
We provide these services for the poor and the marginalized e.g. women, children, persons with disabilities, the poor.
All the mentioned services are provided every day except Friday from 11 am to 9 pm.
All members of our team follow confidentiality guidelines and rules.
MENTAL CONSULTATIONS
Iraq has undergone long years of prolonged violence, unrest and conflicts which caused major mental and psychological issues in millions of Iraqis.
We believe that a population with a strong mental and psychosocial well-being is crucial to build a strong peaceful country. For that reason we provide online free counseling and mental health services by our
team of experts.
We provide Special online programs to support women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse.
A virtual consultation gives women a safe and a convenient way to get help they need without having to leave their homes.
